General Terms and Conditions of KANOPI Treks

Please read our booking conditions carefully before booking a tour with us. By booking, you agree to the following conditions.

2. Booking & Contract Conclusion

Bookings can be made by email, WhatsApp or through the contact form on our website.

Bookings can be made by email, WhatsApp or through the contact form on our website. A contract between the guest and KANOPI Treks is established once we have sent a written booking confirmation. By completing a booking, the guest confirms that they have read and accepted these terms and conditions.

3. Prices & Payment Terms

All prices listed are total prices per person in euros (EUR), unless otherwise stated. If payments are made in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR), the exchange rate applicable on the day of payment applies. The exact services included in the tour price are described on the respective tour page.

 

A deposit of 50% of the total price is required to secure a booking. The remaining balance is due no later than on the first day of the tour, before departure. Payments can be made in cash (EUR or IDR) or via Wise or PayPal transfer.

4. Cancellation Policy

We understand that travel plans can change. The following cancellation policy applies:

  • Cancellation more than 14 days before the tour starts: full refund of the deposit.

  • Cancellation 7–14 days before tour start: 50% of the deposit will be retained.

  • Cancellation less than 7 days before the tour starts: the deposit will not be refunded.

  • Cancellation on the day of the tour or no-show: the full tour price will be charged.

Rebookings are possible by arrangement and subject to availability. Please contact us as early as possible.

5. Changes by Kanopi Treks

KANOPI Treks reserves the right to modify, postpone or cancel tours for significant reasons. These include in particular: extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, official government orders or safety concerns. In such cases, an alternative tour or a full refund of any amounts already paid will be offered.

6. Guest Responsibilities & Conduct

All guests are required to follow the guide's instructions at all times. This is for the safety of everyone involved, as well as for the protection of nature and wildlife. In particular, we ask that guests:

  • Do not feed or touch orangutans and other wild animals.

  • Leave no trash in the jungle

  • Avoid making loud noises that might frighten the animals.

  • Follow the paths and respect the guide's instructions.

 

In cases of serious misconduct, KANOPI Treks reserves the right to terminate a tour without issuing a refund.

7. Health & Fitness

Guests are responsible for honestly assessing their physical condition and informing KANOPI Treks of any health limitations, allergies or special requirements at the time of booking. We recommend consulting a doctor before travel and taking out appropriate travel and health insurance.

8. Disclaimer

KANOPI Treks accepts no liability for damages, injuries or losses resulting from force majeure, unforeseeable events or the conduct of guests themselves. All guests participate in tours at their own risk.

 

Travel cancellation insurance, international health insurance and accident insurance are strongly recommended.

9. Data protection

Personal data of guests (name, email address, travel dates) are used exclusively for processing the booking and will not be shared with third parties. By booking, the guest consents to the storage and processing of their data for the purpose of booking.

10. Final Provisions

Indonesian law applies. Should any individual provision of these booking terms and conditions be found invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
